I am presently a first year M.S. student in the Human Centered Design and Engineering (HCDE) program at the University of Washington in Seattle.

I have been fortunate enough to work in fast paced environments of a multitude of social networking and education startups globally, which has taught me how to become a better designer, always focused on people and growth. I have learned the importance of a balance between an aesthetic, functional, and memorable experience for a successful product. I believe that every problem needs a unique approach and perspective to be solved.

I was born in Kolkata, a city in eastern India, also known as the city of joy and grew up travelling all across the country attending different schools and making friends from all the many different cultures. I always love to see people overjoyed when I am able to create innovative solutions for their problems.
I am Rohan Pal, product designer — learning, thinking, creating.
I was one of the 10 finalists at IXDA Student Design Charette 2021, and worked on improving interactions between sexual assault victims and law enforcement in the US.

I have always believed in the importance of diversity and ethics in the design industry. As a Figma community advocate, I connect with people who have similar views and voice my opinions on the importance of a more inclusive community to shape a better future with meaningful interactions.

I also worked with several student-led communities like Students of UXD, Product Classroom, and Innovative Designers of Tomorrow to empower and voice young designers of all ages, with some unique events and resources for always keep learning and growing.

I really appreciate you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me and my projects. Always happy to chat and share stories over coffee or on any social platform!
